Venue · Houston
AV & event production at Marriott Marquis Houston.
Across Discovery Green from the GRB and connected to the downtown tunnel system, the 1,000-room flagship Marriott built in 2016 at 1777 Walker. Texas Ballroom and Dallas Ballroom are our defaults for 800–1,500-attendee corporate summits and benefit galas, and the rooftop deck is where the night ends.
What we know about the room
Texas Ballroom, Dallas Ballroom, Houston Ballroom, and the rooftop deck.
- Texas Ballroom. Roughly 30,000 square feet; seats ~2,000 theater or ~1,200 banquet. Ceiling takes flown LED without venue engineering for most summits. Our default for flagship 1,200-plus keynotes in the Marquis.
- Dallas Ballroom. Mid-size and divisible. Lands clean for 400-700 banquet, paddle-raise galas, or launch receptions that pre-flow into the rooftop deck two floors up. We have used it as a parallel breakout for Texas Ballroom keynotes.
- Rooftop deck. The Texas-shaped lazy river is the postcard; Walker Street Kitchen is the bar; the skyline view closes the night. Receptions and branded cocktail events run here on a weather-contingency plan we pre-scope at site walk. Houston rooftops are not a default-yes.
- Meeting rooms. Mid-size break-out rooms across the conference levels. Strong fit for parallel breakout tracks, shared hallway carries sound and RF, so we coordinate frequencies before the first cue.
- Load-in. Loading dock shared with the adjacent hotel tower. Service-elevator hold has to be scheduled with hotel ops, we book it the day the contract signs and own the timetable from there.
- Broadcast & hybrid. House fiber clears typical hybrid broadcast. For mission-critical streams we layer bonded cellular every time. IATSE Local 51 covers the stagehand call, paperwork clears in hours, not days.
